Gloria Dei Senior Communities Partners with Twilight Wish to Grant Wishes of Seniors in Need at St. John Neumann Place

Gloria Dei Senior Communities and Twilight Wish Foundation, a locally-based national nonprofit, partnered to grant the simple needs wishes of 30 residents at Saint John Neumann Place of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Thursday, August 8, 2012.

As part of Gloria Dei’s CARE Community Outreach Program, residents in their Bucks and Montgomery county facilities raised funds by holding bake sales, car washes and bingo nights over the past few months to grant the simple needs wishes of 30 residents of Saint John Neumann Place, a low-income, independent living community in South Philadelphia. The residents’ wishes were for basic items including bibles, clock radios, a coffee maker, a robe and an electric fry pan. Representatives from Gloria Dei and Twilight Wish visited the community and distributed the gifts during a special ceremony in the chapel. Before the reception, the visitors were treated to a homemade luncheon, courtesy of the Saint John Neumann residents.

Vincent Dattilo, CEO of Gloria Dei Senior Communities commented, “Our residents take great pride and pleasure in helping those that need it most. They are truly committed to our CARE community outreach program and support it at all levels. Partnering with the Twilight Wish Foundation to help grant wishes to 30 residents of Saint John Neumann Place embodies the true mission of our program.”

Gloria Dei Senior Communities Sponsors Sign Donation to Cayuga Elementary School in Philadelphia

Gloria Dei Senior Communities, through its CARE Community Outreach program, has helped sponsor the donation of a new school entranceway sign for the Cayuga Elementary Public School serving the Hunting Park and Feltonville communities of Philadelphia. The impressive sign, ten ft. wide by three ft. high, was manufactured and jointly donated by Aztec Signs of Philadelphia. The sign is positioned directly above the main entrance into the school building allowing students, teachers, administrators and staff alike to admire and generate pride for their school.

Cayuga School Principal, Mrs. Evelyn Cortez, said, “We are extremely grateful to Gloria Dei Senior Communities and Aztec Signs for this wonderful sign donation. We have been working for several years to obtain a school sign above our entrance doors for all to see. We believe that it will become a sense of pride not only for our students and staff, but the community as well.”

Vincent Dattilo, CEO of Gloria Dei Senior Communities added, “We believe deeply in our community outreach since it is very much a part of our overall mission. As a faith-based community, Gloria Dei Communities and its residents are gratified to give back to the local communities where the need for a helping hand is so strong.
